Self-esteem is your overall opinion of yourself. How you feel about your abilities and limitations. When you have healthy self-esteem you feel good about yourself and see yourself as deserving the respect of others.

Types of self-esteem:

Low and High self-esteem.

High self-esteem or positive self-esteem: In high self-esteem, you believe in yourself and know that you are a great addition to this world. You recognize that you might have some weaknesses but you also know that you have a lot of strength which really shape up who you are.

Low self-esteem or negative self-esteem: When someone lacks confidence about who they are and what they can do. They often feel incompetent, unloved and inadequate. People who struggle with low self-esteem are consistently afraid about making mistakes or letting other people down.

If you feel that you have low self-esteem, remember that you are such a valuable addition to this world. Just like everybody else you are good at so many things which will help make our world a better place. Remember that you are important. Your life counts and you can make a freat difference in this world.

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow has not arrived yet. Today is now . Live your life in the now. There are better days ahead. Keep going!!!

How to improve your self- esteem:

  1. Love and value yourself.
  2. Recognize your strength.
  3. Feel able to try new and difficult things.
  4. Show kindness towards yourself.
  5. Move past mistakes without blaming yourslf unfairly.
  6. Take time you need for yourself.
  7. Believe you matter and are good enough.
  8. Believe that you deserve happiness and joy.
Because you are hero of your own life……

Causes of low self esteem:

  • Being bullied or abused.
  • Ongoing stress.
  • Problems at work or while studying.
  • Relationship problems.
  • Problems with money and housing.

You might have bad some of these experiences and you might also had difficulties that aren’t mentioned in the list. Whatever has affected your self-esteem, its important to remember that you have the right to feel good about who you are…

Quiet that voice of doubt inside of you,you are good enough, you do deserve good things,you are smart enough,you are worthy of love and respect,you are amazing just the way you are…

Is low self esteem a mental health problem

Having a low self esteem isn’t a mental health problem in itself,bout are closely linked . And it may lead to depression and anxiety.

The signs of low self esteem as well as signs of depression and anxiety are as follows,

  • Feeling hopeless and worthless.
  • Blaming yourself.
  • Worrying about being unable to do things.
  • Hating yourself.

Feeling insecure can be a reason of low self-esteem so in this situation you have to take care of yourself, affirm your own values, embrace the awkward,challenge negative thoughts, spend time with people who love you, be kind to yourself and talk to yourself.
